We are seeking recruit a General Manager for the nursery business. The General Manager will have overall executive responsibility for all aspects of the business, including operations, technical, commercial and Health, Safety, and Environment. The General Manager will be the senior executive on site, operating with considerable autonomy, and will report directly to a board of Directors representing the owners.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to
Strategic planning, including setting long term business plans and annual budgets for the company
Overall responsibility for managing the financial success of the business, measured against agreed annual budgets and targets
Managing all aspects of the business in respect of Health, safety, and Environmental performance
Overall management of all staff on site
Representing the company externally
in key client and supplier relationships
with all regulatory bodies
at professional associations and trade organisations
Applicants will ideally have significant experience in the nursery/forestry business but consideration will also be given to applicants with from other sectors who can demonstrate a track record of performance at an equivalent management level in their sector. The post will be based in Forres, with the occasional need to travel, with an attractive salary and benefits package which is negotiable depending upon the experience of the applicant
