​Our client as the largest integrated forestry business in the UK, and a member of Europe’s leading timber processing operation – our client is a rapidly developing multi-site business, with a turnover in excess of £650m and operations spanning forestry, sawmilling, timber manufacturing and energy.

Reporting to Group Logistics Manager and overseeing our clients transport team, the role of Group Logistics Coordinator is key in the co-ordination of logistics for our clients UK sites. You’ll effectively be the first point of contact for all haulage issues and enquiries, ensuring our site distribution activities offer the most cost-efficient way of working.

Specifically, some responsibilities ofGroup Logistics Coordinatorinclude:

  • Supporting the Logistics Manager in setting up tracking systems and developing OTIF reports for customers and hauliers.

  • Oversee and execute planning activities of daily multi-site collections and deliveries across the UK, ensuring schedules adhere to drivers working hours and regulations.

  • Oversee the development and expansion of Paragon, route planning software, ensuring the successful implementation across the Group subsidiaries.

  • Reviewing logistic planning activities across the Group, report on performance and cost.

  • Providing analysis to help sites maintain efficiencies in terms of dispatch, yard performance and goods in/out.

  • Developing training materials and SOP’s to support dispatch processes.

  • Mentor and develop Transport Coordinators, maintaining team motivation whilst working within Company policies and procedures at all times.

About you:

With prior experience in the coordination of logistics/transport across the UK, you’re a well organised and highly attentive individual, who able to work to their own initiative. In addition, you’ll have:

  • Proven people management skills.

  • Sound knowledge of drivers hours and working time rules.

  • Strong analytical ability when reviewing delivery data.

  • Problem solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a busy environment

  • A high level of organisational skills and high attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

  • Good computer skills across all Microsoft products and with experience of using transport planning tools.

  • The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
