​Sustainable forestry investment, the carbon opportunity presented by new forest creation, and the advent of natural capital in land investment has generated an unprecedented level of demand for consultancy, valuation and advisory services for land, farms, and forests.

To help service this demand, our client has a vacancy for a motivated Forestry Investment Advisor/Surveyor within the Forestry Investment Team.

This is a key role responsible for:

  • Forest, land, and farm valuations.

  • Forestry, land and farm acquisition agency and advisory services, including on site surveying.

  • Consultancy in forestry investment, woodland carbon, and natural capital.

  • Existing client care and cultivating new potential clients and their intermediaries

The successful candidate will be located in Scotland, with a preference for a position in the central belt, or further north. However, for the right candidate location flexibility outside this area may be possible.

Occasional travel across the UK may be required according to business requirements and for meetings or events.  

The role would appeal to either:

  • A rural surveyor, either with forestry investment expertise or seeking to develop their forestry investment expertise.

  • A commercially minded forester looking to develop their career as a rural surveyor / investment specialist.

  • An investment professional (CFA / CAIA or similar) interested in becoming an expert in the forestry, woodland carbon, and natural capital sectors.

 Specialist training will be provided.

About you:
We’re looking for candidates who are highly motivated, driven, enthusiastic, reliable and adaptable. In addition to this, you’ll have:

  • Relevant academic qualifications.

  • Professional membership of RICS (RICS RV status is an advantage).

  • Professional accreditation to CFA/CAIA (for investment professionals).

  • Strong commercial acumen and at least 3 years professional experience in either:

    • Rural consultancy/agency.

    • Forestry investment.

    • Forestry management.

    • ESG/sustainable/real asset investment experience.

  • Strong client relationship management skills.

  • Analytical approach and a high skill level in Excel and Word.

  • Driving licence.
