​​Our clients Farming team provide clients with a strategic business and management service for their farms and estates advising on a wide variety of issues to enable owners to manage and make the most of their land. They have a very strong client base in Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Hampshire.

An opportunity has arisen for a talented individual to join their team to provide rural consultancy and management advice to private clients across a diverse range of property portfolios. This person will have direct client contact with clients from the start, with the support of from our clients existing team.

The successful candidate will ideally be MRICS or CAAV with approximately 3 or 4 years post qualification experience, or alternatively we will consider someone with a Farm Consultant background at a similar level.

Responsibilities for either background will include:

  • Budgeting, and monitoring

  • Liaising with and overseeing farm/estate staff and contractors

  • Reporting to clients on practical and financial matters

  • General property management eg repairs, maintenance, insurance,

  • Managing contract farming agreements

  • Understanding, interpreting and communicating effects of the key rural policies eg CSS, ELM

  • Highlight opportunities for appropriate diversification

  • Ability to interpret tax system to help inform advice to clients eg capital & income taxes, VAT

If MRICS, responsibilities will also include Property management:

  • Involvement in planning, and largely responsible for executing estate strategies

  • Residential & commercial lettings, tenancies, rent reviews etc

  • Farm business tenancies - negotiating and drafting

  • Woodland management and overseeing woodland planting, management and improvement works

If farm management then responsibilities will also include working with clients, and/or contractors to:

  • Set cropping plans and rotations

  • Grain marketing

  • Machinery replacements and upgrades

  • Recruitment and employment contracts

  • Basic payment scheme applications and advice

  • Environmental schemes – setting up and managing
